getting started

Five tiny steps. Yours to adjust, every single time.

Appropriate for children up to and including 36 months of age. Supervised awake-time use only.

01

Charge the paw

The patting module sits inside Huggu's right paw and charges over USB-C.

02

Wake Huggu

Hold the button on the remote. One soft tone confirms it's on.

03

Place the paw

Soft mitten paw lightly on baby's tummy or side. Always awake. Always with you.

04

Dial it in

Rhythm, music, volume — three buttons, controlled separately. No app, no phone needed.

05

Lift away when you're done

When the comforting moment is over, Huggu goes back to the shelf. Never goes in the cot or bassinet, never unattended.

supervised use only

You're still the one in the room.
Huggu just gives your arm a rest.

Tired hands after minutes — or what feels like hours — of patting? That's where Huggu comes in. While you stay right there, present and watching, Huggu holds the rhythm so your hands don't have to. Not forever. Just long enough to breathe.

Huggu is for supervised awake-time use only. It's not replacing you or your presence — it's making sure you can sustain that presence longer, through the moments that test you most.

✓ Always supervised · awake-time only · never in the cot

the heartbeat of Huggu

Your instinct, gently held.

Every parent figures it out by accident — a steady, rhythmic pat settles babies. Huggu's middle finger flexes in that same gentle motion so your arm can rest while the moment does its work. Three speeds. You're always right there.

01 Slow For wind-down moments. Grounded and gentle.
02 Steady Most parents' default. Mimics a natural pat.
03 Lively A touch upbeat. For ramping fussies.
Awake-time only Remote-controlled Independent of the music
the rule we never break

"Together with Huggu while awake.
Sleep safely without it."

Huggu is for active awake-time soothing only — never a sleep aid, never a substitute for you. Lift Huggu away the moment comforting is done. Never goes in the cot or bassinet, never unattended. Follow Red Nose Australia at rednose.org.au.

The answers you need.

Is Huggu safe for newborns?
Huggu is designed for supervised awake-time use with babies and toddlers from 0 months. Close parental supervision at all times, particularly with babies under three months. If you have questions about your baby's specific needs, speak with your maternal health nurse or GP.
Can Huggu help my baby sleep?
Huggu is for awake-time comfort only — fussy spells, the witching hour, car-seat transitions, floor play with visitors. It is not a sleep aid and must never be used during naps, bedtime, or any unattended moment. Lift Huggu away the moment you're done comforting. Never goes in the cot or bassinet, never unattended. Full stop.
How long does the battery last?
The patting module sits inside Huggu's right paw and charges via the included USB-C cable. The remote uses one CR2025 button/coin battery (included).
What if I need to cancel my pre-order?
Cancel any pre-order, any time before it ships — no questions, no fuss. Email us with your order number and we'll refund in full to your original payment method within 5 business days. Once your Huggu has shipped, the 30-day cuddle trial applies.
My baby is really unsettled — will Huggu actually work?
Honestly? Huggu works for most babies, most of the time — but we won't promise it works for every baby every night, because nothing does. The gentle rhythmic pat mirrors what parents instinctively do, giving you another tool to find what clicks in that moment. The 30-day cuddle trial exists precisely so you can find out without risk. Try every rhythm, try different volumes, try pairing it with your own patting. Most parents find their rhythm within the first week — and if you don't, you return it. Full stop.
